Ellan Vannin FF is an exquisite daughter of the renowned hunter sire Popeye K, out of Heartbreaker Heff, a mare whose offspring continue to prove themselves in both the hunter and derby rings. Ellan Vannin FF boasts an impressive show record, including Grand Champion CSHA at the 2017 Royal Horse Show in Toronto, Reserve Champion Broodmare in 2022, and a win in the Get of Sire class alongside her full brother, Park Avenue FF.

When we started under saddle, Ellan demonstrated an uncomplicated, kind, and willing nature, traits that made her an exceptional candidate for a dedicated broodmare career to produce sweet, uncomplicated, amateur-friendly offspring. You have to breed your best to breed your best! Her outstanding temperament, impeccable pedigree, and superb conformation make her a valuable addition to our breeding program. We were incredibly fortunate to acquire Ellan from her breeders at Fieldstone Farm, a farm with deep roots in my own journey. Chris and Shannon, the visionaries behind Fieldstone, were among my very first clients when I started Braecrest Stables 22 years ago. They entrusted me with training their outstanding homebred filly, Tangerine Tango, who went on to win the Governor General Cup at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, a milestone that was both an honour and an inspiration.

The influence of Fieldstone Farm on Braecrest’s breeding program has been profound, from their unwavering support over the years to their trust in us for training and showing their horses. Two decades later, having Ellan Vannin FF become one of our Braecrest Broodmares, is the ultimate compliment to our commitment to providing the very best for our equine family.
